Overview
Once you talk to a client about potential travel, open up a trip in TravelJoy to begin tracking the discussion. Trips can be thought of as file folders, as they contain all of your communication, documents, invoices and more for a particular trip!Â
Create a trip
To begin, locate the blue "+ New" button in the top left-hand corner of your TravelJoy screen, and select "Trip" from the menu that appears:
A popup will appear to begin the building process for this trip.
Add a trip photo
To add a trip photo that reflects the trip's destination, you can navigate to the top of the pop-up, and select the "Choose photo" button in the top right hand corner of the trip image. You have two options for adding a new photo to this trip:
- Search by keyword in the "Search" tab
- Upload your own photo in the "Upload" tab

Choose or add a primary traveler
Next step is to select a primary traveler:
- If they are a previous client, choose their name from the drop-down menu
- If they are a new client, click the "Create new" link just below the drop-down and add their information. TravelJoy will automatically generate a new client profile card for them
Name the trip
Next, create a name for the trip (best practice: include the name of the primary traveler in your trip name so you can easily identify it in the full trip list)
Add more trip details
Add more trip details known about the client's travel plans (dates, destinations, budget):
Finish the trip creation process
Once you've added all of the applicable trip details, Click "Create trip" in the bottom right-hand corner of the popup. It will automatically open the trip's custom page, where you can begin tracking Messages, Files, Tasks, and private Notes:
Manage the trip
From the trip page, you can:
- Edit key trip details, such as trip name, additional travelers, whether this is part of a group, dates, budget, etc.
- Track trip status
- Mark whether the next stage is waiting on you, the traveler, or a supplier
- Create a proposal, form, or invoice
|  💡 Note: the easiest way to get to a trip from anywhere on the TravelJoy is to search for the trip by name in the top search bar (it saves a step from clicking Dashboard and then searching for the trip!) |
