Overview
After adding your invoice items, scroll down to the "Payment schedule" section to provide your client with due dates and payment amounts. Once your payment schedule is created, action buttons will allow you to manage each payment.
Create a "Pay in Full" or "Deposit and Final Payment" schedule
If your payment schedule will consist of only one or two payments, you can choose either "Pay in full" or "Deposit and final payment." Each of these default options has customizable due dates, while the second option also allows you to choose the deposit amount.
Create a monthly or custom schedule
For a more flexible schedule, click the "Edit" link beside either default option. This will take you to the payment schedule builder where you can add individual or multiple payments with custom due dates, amounts, and descriptions. If you've chosen a default payment schedule option and then make changes here, this will replace the default option.
In the builder, you can add payments one at a time using the "Add payment" button, or add several payments at once using the "Add multiple payments" option. You can read more about adding multiple payments, including monthly payments, in this guide.
Edit your payments
Once you've added your payments, you can click the pencil icon next to each due date, description, and amount to customize these fields.
The payment schedule is only complete once the total of all payments due matches the total price of the invoice. You can compare these totals at the bottom-right corner of the payment schedule. The larger number shows the total of all payments (paid and unpaid) in your schedule, while the smaller number reflects the total price of the items at the top of the invoice.
Manage your payments
To the right of each payment in your payment schedule, you'll find action buttons. These buttons show you everything you can do with a particular payment, and as a result, they will change depending on the invoice type and payment status.
