Important note about payouts to your bank account
If your client payments are added to the trip or group's Funds balance, you can withdraw from these balances at any time, and the deposit will be received in two business days.Â
If your client payments are deposited into your bank account automatically (known as Legacy Direct Payments), the deposit timeline will vary based on client payment method.Â
Overview
While withdrawals from your trip or group Funds balance are deposited into your bank account in two business days, there are some caveats to keep in mind. For example, withdrawals initiated on weekends, bank holidays, or after 7:00 PM EST will be processed the following business day, and received after two additional business days.Â
For members using Legacy Direct Payments, in which direct payments are automatically transferred to your bank account rather than the Funds balance, there are a number of additional factors which can impact your deposit timeline. For example, credit card payments take up to two business days, while bank transfers take up to seven business days.Â
Rarely, payment reviews may also impact the date of a payout. In case of delays, check your Bank Transfers Report or contact TravelJoy's support team for assistance.
If you're expecting a deposit and have not received it, be sure to review the suggestions below:
The withdrawal was initiated after the bank deadline
Banks use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to determine which day a payment is processed. Withdrawals requested after 23:59 UTC on a particular day will be considered part of the next day's transactions.
This equates to 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific during Daylight Savings and 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific during Standard Time.
Example: If you request a withdrawal on Monday, August 1st at 8:15 PM Eastern, the second business day will be Thursday, August 4th.
The withdrawal was initiated ahead of a weekend and/or bank holiday
Payout timelines are based on business days only, and this does not include weekends or bank holidays, which include many federal holidays.Â
Example: If you request a withdrawal on Friday, July 1st at 8:15 PM Eastern, the second business day will be Thursday, July 7th due to the weekend and the bank holiday.
The client paid via bank transfer (Legacy Direct Payments only)
While credit card payments from clients typically reach you in two business days, bank transfers take up to seven business days. If you see a transaction in pending status, this is usually the reason.
To understand which payment method was used by your client, check out the payment schedule of the invoice or your Direct Payments Report and look for the icon next to the payment. The building represents a bank transfer, while the credit card represents a credit card payment:
Â
Example: If a client makes a bank transfer payment on Monday, August 1st, the seventh business day will be Wednesday, August 10th.
A payment is under review and requires your attention
If you've compared your payment details to the timelines outlined above, the payment may be subject to a review. We will reach out directly via email when a review is required, so we recommend checking your inbox, spam folder, and other folders for messages from TravelJoy containing further instructions. You can learn more about payment reviews here.Â
