This guide answers common questions about TravelJoy gift cards. To learn how to set up this feature, check out this guide. If your question is not answered here, reach out to the support team for more information.
What are TravelJoy gift cards?
Gift cards are a feature to help you grow your business. Once your landing page is created, your clients can visit the page to purchase gift cards for others (or themselves!) which can then be applied to future service fees with your agency.
Who can sign up for the gift card feature?
Any agent can sign up! Check out the guide here to learn about verifying your bank account -- this is required in order to access the gift card feature.
Why do I have to verify my bank account?
While verifying your bank account is completely optional, it is required to unlock the gift card feature. This step is designed to keep TravelJoy safe for agents and clients alike.
How can gift cards be used?
Gift cards are designed to be used only for your own service fees, such as travel planning fees.
How do processing fees work for gift cards?
Processing fees of 3.5% will be deducted from the gift card purchase amount. Since these fees will be handled during the purchase of the card, no additional processing fees will apply when the card is applied toward an invoice.
How does my client apply their gift card to a direct invoice?
There must be an invoice item on the invoice for your trip planning fee that is the "Planning Fee" item type. This can be confirmed under Templates->Invoices:
Then, the client will see a prompt to enter their gift card code directly below their "Amount Due" on the invoice. This will only appear on invoices with a valid trip planning fee:
Can gift cards be used to pay for travel costs, such as supplier payments?
This is not currently an option.
Can I change the default terms and conditions on the gift card page?
The default terms cannot be changed, as these terms are universally required for all gift card purchases. However, you can add your own custom terms in the box directly below the default terms.
How can I share the gift card page with my clients?
Once you've clicked "View my gift card page," you'll be taken to the public version of this page. Copy the link from your address bar and share it with your clients directly, on your website, or via social media.
How does the maximum discount on promotions work?
This feature is designed to prevent a higher-than-expected total discount.
Let's say your maximum custom gift card amount is set at $2,000, and you add a 20% off promo code, expecting this to generally be used for gift cards under $100. Without a maximum discount, this could allow your client to get $400 off of a $2,000 gift card. However, if you set a maximum discount of $20, the client would be limited to a $20 discount regardless of the gift card amount.
How does the minimum load on promotions work?
This feature is designed to ensure discounts are only available on cards of a minimum purchase amount.
For example, if the minimum load is $50 for your promotion, the client will not be able to apply that promo code when purchasing a $25 gift card. The promo code will only work on purchases of $50 or more.
Can I use maximum discount and minimum load at the same time?
Yes!
There's a feature or design change that I'd like to suggest!
