When reviewing TravelJoy Help Center guides, tutorials, or support responses, you may find that we've chosen a different word to describe a part of our platform. This guide is designed to explain how each term is used.
Trip: A "trip" is any individual bit of travel that one or more of your clients may be taking, whether it is just in the inquiry/lead stage or fully booked.
For example, if a family of four reaches out to you about potentially booking a Christmas vacation, you would create a trip for them -- even though the trip hasn't been officially booked yet -- so that you have a place to store and track that conversation.
Group: A "group" is a collection of trips, usually all going to the same destination on the same date. A destination wedding would be an obvious group. Less obviously, four friends all heading to the same hotel for spring break -- but each staying in their own room and paying their own way -- would be a group consisting of four trips.
Client: A client is any person who has traveled or may travel on any trip in TravelJoy. Because we store each client's personal information (such as birthdate and passport number) on their own profile, children and spouses are all considered individual clients and will have their own profiles.
Traveler: A traveler is any client who is taking part in a particular trip.
Primary Traveler: The primary traveler is the person primarily responsible for a trip. By default, they will receive all messages, forms, and proposals sent from a trip, and any invoices created within that trip will be assigned to them unless you select a different traveler in the "Client" dropdown.
Additional Traveler: This refers to all travelers on a trip except for the primary traveler. These travelers can be added or removed at any time.
Form Template: This is a reusable form that you can customize, save, and send to your clients. It allows them to answer questions, authorize credit card payments, and view and agree to your terms and conditions.
Email Template: This is a reusable email message that you can customize, save, and send to your clients.
