TravelJoy makes it easy to check off your to-dos with the help of tasks. Tasks can be reminders sent to you to complete an action OR automated to send your clients an email or form. In this guide, we'll go over how to create a task from within a trip or the Tasks page on your dashboard, and how to easily automate a task.

Creating an individual task from a trip
Individual tasks will most commonly be created within a trip's Tasks tab:
You can add a task in one of two ways:"Quick task add" or "+ Add task". Quick task add allows you to quickly add a task with just a title that you can come back to edit later, whereas "+ Add task" allows you input all details related to that task.
For this example, we'll select "+ Add Task":
Once clicked, a pop up will appear allowing you to edit the task. You can add details such as a task name, a due date, notes, and set up a reminder for yourself prior to the due date:
Once you've added these details, click the blue "Save" button and your task will be visible under the trip's task tab and within the Tasks page on your dashboard:

Creating an individual task from the Tasks tab in your dashboard
Tasks can also be added by visiting the Tasks page of your dashboard.
From this tab, locate and click the blue "+ Add tasks" button in the top right of the page:
From there, a pop up will appear that will allow you to select with group or trip you'd like add this task to, and input details such as task name, due date, notes, and set up a task reminder for yourself:
Remember to click the blue "Save" button to save your task in place!

Tasks can be edited, completed, or deleted from both the trip task tab and that Task page on your dashboard.

Automating Tasks

You can automate the process of sending both emails and forms to your client using automation.
You can automate a task based on a trip's due date, start date, end date, or (in when automating a task in a task list) the date of task list import.
Automating a task from a trip
When editing a task within a trip, you can unlock automation by selecting a specific due date or relative due date:
Once a due date is selected, you can move into the Automation tab at the top of the edit screen to enable automation. From this tab you can select the automation action (either form or email), the template to be sent to the client, who on the trip will receive the message, and if you'd like to receive a copy of the message and mark the task as complete when the automation is triggered:

If scheduled successfully, the "Scheduled" icon will appear within the task on the trip's task tab:
