Overview
If you have an email address at a custom domain (such as yourname@yourtravelagency.com) you can connect this email address to TravelJoy so that your messages to clients come from your business address. This can help ensure clients recognize your messages.
- Getting started
- View your DNS records
- Contact the support team of your domain provider
- Verify that your records were entered successfully
Getting started
💡 If you use Gmail or Google Workspace, the following steps may not be needed! Simply click “Sign in with Gmail” under Settings → Email, log in to your Gmail account, and you’ll be connected automatically! |
To start the process of using your own email address, choose Set Up Custom Domain when visiting Settings -> Email:
From here, enter your name as you would like it displayed to clients (either your real name, agency name, or both) and your email address:
View your DNS records
Once you've entered your name and email address, clicking "Next" will display DNS records that will need to be updated with your domain provider. If you don't know what that means, don't panic! Skip to the next section (”Contact the support team of your domain provider”) and we'll share a powerful tip.
If you do understand DNS records and know how to enter them with your domain provider, you can proceed to your domain control panel and enter all five records at this time. Pay special attention to the question about who your domain provider is before entering these records, as the listed companies use nonstandard settings:
💡 If your domain provider is Namecheap and you are having difficulty verifying your records once added, try toggling “Is your DNS / hosting provider GoDaddy or Wix?” to “YES” and add the records as shown. |
Once your records have been added to your domain control panel successfully, head to the "Verify that your records were entered successfully" section of this guide.
Contact the support team of your domain provider
The company where you registered your domain name (the domain provider) will typically offer support through this process if needed. If your domain provider cannot update these records directly for you, they should be able to provide a guide from their help center to walk you through the process.
Who is your domain provider? Some of the most common ones are GoDaddy, HostGator, Google Domains, and Wix. Think of the company that you have to pay when your domain name needs to be renewed, and that is your domain provider.
đź’ˇ Note: If your domain administrator is GoDaddy or Wix, be sure to select "Yes" before proceeding to the next step! (See screenshot in the above section) |
For this last step, contact your domain administrator's support team via either email or chat -- you don't want to read all of these records over the phone -- and tell them you need to add five CNAME records.
Copy and paste the entire table of DNS settings in a message to them. (Be sure not to use the example below -- only use the records displayed within your specific TravelJoy account.)
Verify that your records were entered successfully
Once these DNS records have been updated, come back to Settings -> Email to click the "Verify DNS Settings" button to verify the settings. If you get a green checkmark, you're all set!

I attempted to enter my business email and a message of “Invalid Domain” appears. They system only allows custom domain not those owned by other companies. It’s the email I established so I don’t understand.
