Groups are one of TravelJoy's most powerful features, helping you manage communication, payments, and logistics across multiple traveling parties all in one place. This article gives you a high-level look at what Groups can do and points you to the right guides to go deeper.
What is a Group?
A group is a collection of trips with a shared destination or theme — think destination weddings, corporate retreats, or school travel programs. While a single trip typically has one primary traveler who handles communication and payments, a group lets you communicate with and manage each traveling party individually and as a whole.

Setting Up a Group
Getting started is straightforward. You can create a new group from the blue "New" button at the top left of your TravelJoy dashboard, then give it a name, dates, and destination.
Once your group is created, there are a few ways to add a trip to your group:
- Group booking page — The most powerful option. You build a custom landing page where clients can choose a package, fill out forms, and pay their deposit. TravelJoy automatically creates the trip and invoice for each booking. Learn more about group booking pages.
- Group registration form — A good option when you're still finalizing details. Share a form link and TravelJoy will create a trip for each response. Learn more.
- Manually add a trip — You can also add trips directly, or move an existing trip into your group.
For a full walkthrough of setting up your first group, see Create and use a group to organize your trips.
Communicating with Your Group
Groups give you the flexibility to reach everyone at once or send personalized messages to individual trips. From the All Travelers tab, you can:
- Send a group message to all travelers simultaneously, with each reply kept separate in the individual trip's message feed. Full guide here.
- Send a group form to collect information from all travelers at once. See how it works.
- Create and send a group invoice template when multiple travelers owe the same amount — build it once and send individual copies to each trip. Step-by-step guide.
Managing Bookings and Rooming
Once travelers start booking, TravelJoy's Group Status page is your hub for tracking and managing everything:
- Track payment status across all travelers in one place.
- Manage room assignments — combine roommates who booked separately, move travelers between rooms, or add someone who hasn't booked yet. Full guide here.
- Cancel a traveler's reservation — remove a traveler from the group and their invoice will be expired or updated automatically. See how it works.
- Split or combine invoices based on how roommates want to handle payment. Step-by-step guide.
- Export your rooming list as a spreadsheet at any time.
For a deep dive into all of this, see Manage and track your group's bookings.
Group Itineraries
You can create a single group itinerary to share with all travelers, with the option to include personalized items for individual trips. Learn more about group itineraries.
